የመንግሥት ቤቶች ኤጀንሲ
የመንግሥት ቤቶች ኤጀንሲ ቀደም ሲል የከተማ ቦታና ትርፍ ቤትን የመንግሥት ንብረት ባደረገው አዋጅ ቁጥር 47/67 መሠረት ከመቶ ብር በላይ የሚከራዩ ቤቶችን እንዲረከብ፣ እንዲያከራይ፣ የኪራይ ገቢያቸውን በወቅቱ እንዲሰበስብ፣ ቤቶችን እንዲጠግን፣ ቤቶችን የመግዛት፣ የመሸጥና የመለወጥ ተግባር እንዲያስፈጽም እና መንግሥት በሚያወጣው መመሪያና ዕቅድ መሠረት ቤቶችን እንዲያሠራ ‘የኪራይ ቤቶች አስተዳደር ድርጅት’ በሚል ስያሜ ጥቅምት 25 ቀን 1968 ዓ.ም. በአዋጅ ቁጥር 59/68 ሕጋዊ ሰውነት ያለው መሥሪያ ቤት ሆኖ ተመሠረተ፡፡ በአዋጅ ቁጥር 471/1998 ከቤቶች ሽያጭ አስፈፃሚ ጽ/ቤት ጋር ተዋህዶ ‘የኪራይ ቤቶች ኤጀንሲ’ ተብሎ እንዲጠራና ተጠሪነቱም ለሥራና ከተማ ልማት ሚ/ር እንዲሆን ተደረገ፡፡
ከታኀሣሥ 3 ቀን 2000 ዓ.ም. ጀምሮም ድርጅቱን በአዲስ መልክ ለማቋቋም በወጣው አዋጅ ቁጥር 555/2000 ‘የመንግሥት ቤቶች ኤጀንሲ’ በሚል ስያሜ የተደራጀ ሲሆን ተጠሪነቱም ቀደም ሲል እንደነበረው ለሥራና ከተማ ልማት ሚኒስቴር ሆኗል፡፡

Agency for Government Houses
Agency for Government Houses established in November 1975 under the name ‘Agency for the Administration of Rented Houses’ to administer and manage government owned houses and to undertake studies on housing rent schedule. Later on 2005, the Agency amalgamated with the Office for the Sale of Government Owned Houses by Proclamation No. 471/2005 and called ‘Agency for Rented Houses’.
On December 13, 2007, The Agency was reestablished as an autonomous federal agency, having its own juridical personality, through proclamation No. 555/2007 that redefined the designation and mandate of the Agency. Agency for Government Houses is one of the executive organs that are made accountable to Ministry of Works & Urban Development by Proclamation No. 471/2005.
